The Word

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

 

John faced a serious problem in writing to the Gentiles, the non-Jewish world. Most Gentiles had never heard of the Messiah or Savior who was expected by the Jews. The idea was foreign to them.   How would John  present Christ to the Gentile so they could understand?

The answer lay in the idea of the Word (Logos), for the Word was understood by both Gentile and Jew. The Jews saw a word as something active and existing. The Word of God was seen as the creative power of God, the power that made the world and gave light and life to every man

The Gentiles or Greeks saw the Word more philosophically. When they looked at the world of nature, they saw that things were not chaotic, but orderly. Everything had its place and moved or grew in an orderly fashion, including the stars above and the vegetation below. So, the Greeks then said that behind the world was a mind, a reason, a power that made and kept things in their proper place. This creative and sustaining mind, this supreme reason, this unlimited power was said to be the Word.

The Word was also seen as the power that enabled men to think and reason. It was the power that brought light and understanding to man's mind and enabled him to express his jumbled up thoughts in an orderly fashion.  More importantly, the Word was the power by which men came into contact with God and expressed their feelings to God.

So John takes this common idea of the Jews and Gentiles, and states that Jesus Christ was the Word (Logos). John saw that a word is the expression of an idea, a thought, an image in the mind of a person. He saw that a word describes what is in the mind of a person. Thus, he proclaimed that in the life of Jesus Christ, God was speaking to the world, speaking and demonstrating just what He wanted to say to man.

     Un profeta nunca es perseguido por el mundo tanto como por el pueblo profesos de Dios. De ellos, Jesús dijo, "Oh Jerusalén, Jerusalén, que mata a los profetas y piedras que se envían a usted...". Declaró Stephen antes de ser apedreado, "usted terca y no circuncidado en el corazón y las orejas, siempre resistir el Espíritu Santo: como vuestros padres, por lo que haces."

Hay un tiempo designado para todo. Y hay un tiempo para cada acontecimiento bajo el cielo — (Ecc. 3:1).

     En cuanto a mí, lo que hago, lo hago porque el Señor Dios Rey del universo me mandó a la vez en el pasado. Yo respondo a Él y Él solo. Esto ha sido confirmado en numerosas ocasiones y hoy de nuevo. Fue en presencia de dos testigos y también en presencia de la congregación durante el sermón. Yo no busque los testigos, como todo, Dios utilizo las circumstancia para lograr Su fin.

     Como está escrito en el libro de Eclesiásticos, que dice asi: "... es un tiempo para cada suceso bajo el cielo", y todos los eventos son ordenados por Dios.

Abraham Lincoln una vez dijo, 'Sé que Dios siempre está en el lado de lo correcto, mi preocupación no es si Dios está en nuestro lado, pero si estamos en el lado de Dios.' Hay aquellos que quieren estar en el lado de Dios, y aquellos que quieren a Dios en suyo.

Esto me pone a pensar en aquellos que hacen la declaración de que Jesús era un "liberal", que él enseñó una forma de socialismo; o, que Dios es un "conservador"

En su libro, The Screwtape Letters, C.S. Lewis escribe sobre un demonio llamado Screwtape que conseja un joven demonio subordinado llamado Wormwood sobre cómo mejor para socavar la civilización humana. Una de las "sugerencias" es que los seres humanos pegan etiquetas mundanos a Jesús. Personas pueden llamarlo cualquiera cosa mientras que no piensan en él como Dios.

Si uno a continuación comienza colocar etiquetas a Dios, (¿estamos de acuerdo que Jesús es Dios correcto?), entonces, ¿no se está formando Dios al imagen del hombre? Él, Dios, el Dios creador, el Dios que dijo a Moisés: "YO SOY LO QUE SOY". ¿Quienes somos nosotros que le vamos a decir a Dios lo que El es? Igual que Elías, yo soy celoso por el Señor Dios Todopoderoso, y el furor se despierta en mi cuando mi Señor Dios es ridiculizado.

I Have Made You a Watchman



A prophet is never persecuted by the world as much as by the professed people of God. Of them Jesus said, “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kills the prophets, and stones them that are sent to you...”.   Stephen prior to being stoned declared, “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, you do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.”  

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—(Ecc. 3:1).

 As for me, what I do, I do because the Lord God King of the universe commanded me at a time in the past.  I answer to Him and Him alone.  This has been confirmed on numerous occasions and again today.  How is not important, but that it was in the presence of two witnesses and again in the presence of the congregation during the sermon.

As it is written in Ecclesiastics, there “… is a time for every event under heaven”, and all events are ordained by the Lord God.

Deceivers, Idolaters, Lovers of Self

   Oh you leaders of this nation, you brood of hypocrites, with one mouth you all call on God to bless this nation yet with one and same breath all you leaders you mock, you ridicule Him, you openly rebel against Him and encourage those whom you lead to violate His word, His guidance, His moral law.  How you have ignored the truth of the founding of this land, dedicated to the One Being by Whom and through Whom all was created.  You have defiled its people; you have stepped on her poor and lived off the riches of others.

   As King Solomon gave a prophetic message concerning the future of Israel at the dedication of the Temple, so too the first President as he spoke these words to the new nation, “… The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” 

   “The eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained would mean God’s unchanging standard of morality…what’s under right and wrong.”

   The day in which America turns away from God will be the day that begins the removing of all the blessing that had been given. Woe to this nation and its inhabitants for that day has come upon it and the people revile the Lord more and more each day.

   “Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it?”  Yet you leaders declare that you can and need not the Lord God creator. You use His Word and say “..the bricks have fallen down, but we will rebuild..”

   All you leaders of this nation who exalt yourselves you are like your father who said will “raise his throne above the stars of God, you make yourselves like the Most High, but you will be brought down to the grave to the depths of the pit.”

   You will bring upon the nation the “anger of the Lord, He will remove His right hand at the approach of the enemy… children and infants faint in the streets. They say to their mothers, ‘where is the bread and wine, they faint like wounded men... their lives ebb away in their mothers arms…”

¡Ai Dios Mio, Auxilio!

"... también el Espíritu nos ayuda en nuestra debilidad. No sabemos orar como debiéramos, pero el Espíritu mismo intercede por nosotros con gemidos indecibles. ²⁷ Y Aquél que escudriña los corazones sabe cuál es el sentir^[c] del Espíritu, porque El intercede por los santos conforme a la voluntad de Dios." [Romanos 8:26,27]

 

Te encuentra en una situación de sufrimiento, independientemente de lo que puede haber sido la causa súplicas la ayuda, pero no puedes encontrar las palabras,  no puedes encontrar los pensamientos y su concentración es esporádica.  Caes de rodillas, pero no sabes, no conoces que decir y crees que Dios no le escuchará. Bien, sepa esto, este Dios que  hablo y todo fue creado  vino a Su creación para hacer para ellos lo que ellos no podían hacer para ellos mismo.

 

En nuestra debilidad, Dios es glorificado, cuando no sabemos qué  palabras que decir y todo lo que podemos hacer es gemir y llorar, Dios mismo, como dice la Escritura, intercede por nosotros, no nos deja de nuestros propios recursos, el Espíritu Santo está ahí, en el creyente,  ayudando continuamente porque no solo somos  débil de vez en cuando, nuestro estado es una debilidad de siempre. Nuestra debilidad puede incluir lo físico, lo emocional, lo espiritual y la discapacidad. Su ayuda es como alguien que ayuda a otro llevar una carga intenso.

Oh Lord Help!

"...the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."  [Romans 8:26,27]

 

 You find yourself   in a situation, suffering, whatever may have been the cause you plea for help but cannot find the words, you cannot find the thoughts and your concentration is sporadic. You fall on your knees but do not know what to say and you think that God will not listen to you. Well, know this, the God who spoke and brought all things into creation came down to His creation to do for them what they could not do for themselves.

 

In our weakness, God is glorified, when we do not know what words to say and in our suffering all we can do is groan and cry, God Himself, as Scripture says, intercedes for us, we are not left to our own resources, the Holy Spirit is there, in the believer, helping continuously because we are not just weak from time to time, our state is one of weakness always.  Our weakness may include physical, emotional, and spiritual disability.  His help is like someone who helps another carrying a heavey load.
