LABORERS IN THE VINEYARD

The Parable

Matthew 20: 1-16

  God provides work for man, He gives a field to be tended. The vineyard or field can be either the world or the church. The world, the church, and man himself are all due to God's grace. It is God's grace that provided the field (the world and church) for man to work in and without God there would be nothing (Romans 11:36; Col. 1:10).

God goes out to seek and calls men to labor. The workers do not come to Him. God's going out after man is grace, marvelous grace (Luke 19:10; John 3:16; John 15:16).

   Every step involved in the call of God is of grace: the call itself, the challenge to go and labor, the promise of wages (reward), the acceptance of the responses, and the sending forth into the field. God does not have to issue a call or take any of the steps mentioned; each is marvelous demonstration of God's care and grace.

Know this:  man is going to serves something. He either will serve himself and sin, or he will serve God and righteousness. As Bob Dylan put in the song, You’re Gonna Serve Somebody, you’re going to serve the Devil or you’re going to serve the Lord. Man will either work for the world and its end or for heaven and its end (Romans 6:16-22). For this reason God issues call after call.

   God's grace pays the promised wages to those who work for Him and He will pay at the appointed time. That will be In the evening, at death, when all labor ends. This is the meaning of the evening, of the appointed time.

God pays everyone out of a heart of grace and care. This is important to understand: God is love, He cares for all His servants, no matter how old or how long they have been serving Him. He cares, wanting the laborers to have enough to meet their needs. A day's wage (the reward of eternal life) was necessary to meet their need. He would have no servant go away without at least that much. Therefore, He pays even the late-comers a full wage (eternal life).

When speaking of eternal life and perfection, that is, glorification, being conformed to the nature and image of Christ, God does not show any preference. All will be made just like Christ, perfected in nature.

   God's pay (reward) is not as man sees, but as God wills. Our eyes are evil because we are of an evil world. Therefore, we judge and understand from an imperfect and selfish stance because of our sinful nature which will battle with the Spirit until glorification. (Romans 7: 14-25; Galatians 5:17). God cares and is full of mercy and grace. He gives eternal life to all who come, no matter when they come, at the early call or the call at the  eleventh hour.

  Dios provee trabajo para hombre, se da un campo para ser atendido. El viñedo o campo puede ser el mundo o la iglesia. El mundo, la iglesia, y el hombre mismo se deben a la gracia de Dios. Es la gracia de Dios, que proveó el terreno (el mundo y la iglesia) para el hombre para trabajar y sin Dios no habría nada (Romanos 11:36; Col. 1:16 f).

Dios sale a buscar y llama a los hombres al trabajo. Los trabajadores no llegan a Él. Dios buscando el hombre es la gracia, la gracia maravillosa (Lucas 19:10, Juan 3:16, Juan 15:16).Cada paso en el llamado de Dios es por la gracia: la propia llamada, el reto de ir y la mano de obra, la promesa de salarios (recompensa), la aceptación de las respuestas, y el envío al campo. Dios no tiene que emitir una llamada o tomar alguna de las medidas mencionadas, cada uno es la maravillosa demostración de la atención y la gracia de Dios.

Sepan esto: el hombre va a sirve algo. O se servirá a sí mismo y el pecado, o él servir a Dios ya la justicia. Como Bob Dylan puso en la canción, Tienes Que Servir a Alguien, vas a servir al Diablo o  vas a servir al Señor. El hombre trabajará para el mundo y su fin o para el cielo y su final (Romanos 6:16-22). Por esta razón Dios hace llamada tras llamada
 La gracia de Dios paga los salarios prometidos a los que trabajan para Él, y Él va a pagar a la hora señalada. Eso será en la tarde, en la muerte, cuando termine todo el trabajo. Este es el significado de la noche, de la hora señalada.
Dios le paga a todos de corazón de la gracia y la atención. Esto es importante de entender: Dios es amor, Él cuida de todos sus siervos, no importa la edad o el tiempo que han estado al servicio de Él. Él se preocupa, queriendo los trabajadores tengan lo suficiente para satisfacer sus necesidades. Salario de un día (la recompensa de la vida eterna) era necesario para satisfacer su necesidad. No tendría siervo que se vaya sin por lo menos eso. Por lo tanto, Él paga incluso el recién llegados un salario completo (la vida eterna).

Cuando se habla de la vida eterna y la perfección, es decir, la glorificación, llegando a ser semejante a la naturaleza y la imagen de Cristo, Dios no muestra ninguna preferencia. Todos serán como Cristo, perfeccionado en la naturaleza.
El pago de Dios (recompensa) no es como el hombre ve, sino lo que Dios quiera. Nuestros ojos son malos porque somos de un mundo malo. Por lo tanto, juzgamos y entendemos desde una postura imperfecto y egoísta por nuestra naturaleza pecaminosa que se enfrenta contra el Espíritu hasta la glorificación. (Romanos 7: 14-25, Gálatas 5:17). Dios se preocupa y está lleno de misericordia y gracia. Él da la vida eterna a todos los que vienen, no importa cuando vienen, en la convocatoria anticipada o la llamada a la hora undécima.
