GRACIA: UN REGALO GRATUITO

La palabra “gracia” quiere decir algo dado gratuitamente… sin precio u obligación. Por ejemplo, si su amigo le ofrece un regalo y usted procura pagárselo, ¿sería un regalo? ¡Por supuesto que no! Al momento en que él recibe su dinero, llega ser una deuda que le debe. Tal vez su amigo se ofenda, le quite el regalo y le diga: “No estoy dándote esto por obligación. Es un regalo. ¿Aceptas mi regalo o no?

UN REGALO: AL MOMENTO QUE UNO OFRECE ALGO A CAMBIIO POR EL, YA NO ES MAS REGALO. LLEGA SER DEUDA.

  Pero al que obra, no se le cuenta el salario como gracia, sino como deuda. (Romanos 4:4)

Solamente cuando usted regresa el dinero a su bolsa y extiende su mano vacia, él renueva su oferta ofreciéndole el regalo.

Lo mismo es con la oferta de Dios de la vida eterna. La gente procura comprarla obedeciendo los diez mandamientos, viviendo bien, asistiendo a una iglesia o haciendo alguna obra religiosa. Pero, ¡Dios no se hace a sí mismo deudor a ninguna persona! Él no “debe” la vida eterna a nadie. La ofrece solamente como un regalo.

GOD’S INDESCRIBABLE GIFT

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Romans 5:10-11

          How do we practically receive reconciliation and exult God?  One answer is: do it through Jesus Christ. This means make the portrait of Jesus in the Bible, the work and the words of Jesus portrayed in the New Testament, the essential content of your exultation over God. Exultation without the content of Crist does not honor Christ.

          Paul describes conversion two ways, in one way he says it is “seeing the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” And another is “seeing the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ,” (2 Corinthians 4:4-6). In either case one sees the point. We have Christ, the image of God, and we have God in the face of Christ.

          To exult in God, you exult in what you see and know of God in the portrait of Jesus Christ. This comes to its fullest experience when the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, as Paul wrote in Romans 5:5.

          So then here’s the Christmas point. Not only did God purchase our reconciliation through the death of the Lord Jesus Christ, and not only did God enable us to receive that reconciliation through the Lord Jesus Christ,  but even now we exult in God himself through our Lord Jesus Christ.

            Jesus purchased our reconciliation. Jesus enabled us to receive the reconciliation and open the gift. And Jesus shines forth from the wrapping – the indescribable gift – as God in the flesh, and stirs up all our exultation in God.

            Look to Jesus this Christmas. Receive the reconciliation that he bought. Don’t put it on the shelf unopened. And don’t open it and then make it a means to all your other pleasure.

            Open it and the gift. Exult in Him. Make Him your pleasure. Make Him your treasure.

EL REGALO INEFABLE DE DIOS
     Porque si cuando éramos enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, estando reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida. Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en Dios por el Señor nuestro Jesucristo, por quien hemos recibido ahora la reconciliación. (Romanos 5:10-11)

     ¿Cómo podemos recibir prácticamente la reconciliación y Dios se regocijan? Una respuesta es: hacerlo a través de Jesucristo. Esto significa, por lo menos en parte,  hacer el retrato de Jesús en la Biblia – que incluye la obra y las palabras de Jesús retratado en el Nuevo Testamento - el contenido esencial de su exaltación sobre Dios. Exaltación sin el contenido de Cristo no honra a Cristo.

     Pablo describe dos formas de conversión, de una manera que él dice que es ver la gloria de Dios en la faz de Jesucristo" y otro es  "ver la gloria de Cristo, el cual es la imagen de Dios." (2 Corintios 4: 4-6). En cualquier caso se ve el punto. Tenemos a Cristo, la imagen de Dios, y tenemos a Dios en el rostro de Cristo.

     Para que gloriemos en Dios, nos gloriamos en lo que se ve y se sabe de Dios en el retrato de Jesucristo. Esto llega a su máxima experiencia cuando el amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo, como escribió Pablo en Romanos 5:5

     Así que aquí está el punto de la Navidad. Dios no solo compró nuestra reconciliación a través de la muerte del Señor Jesucristo, y no sólo nos permita recibir la reconciliación a través del Señor Jesucristo, pero incluso ahora nos gloriamos en Dios mismo por medio de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.     Jesús compró nuestra reconciliación. Jesús nos ha permitido recibir la reconciliación y abrir el regalo. Y Jesús resplandece en la envoltura - el regalo inefable -   Dios en la carne - que revuelve todo nuestro júbilo en Dios.

    Mire a Jesús en esta Navidad. Recibir la reconciliación que él compró. No lo coloque en el estante sin abrir. Pero n y luego lo convierten en un medio para todas tus otras placeres.
   

   Ábrelo y desfrute el regalo. Gloriamos en Dios. Hazlo tu placer. Hazlo tu tesoro.
