TENGA EN CUENTA LAS ADVERTENCIAS DEL SEÑOR

Como Israel no hizo caso a las advertencias del Señor después de ser dedicada en el año 997 AC; América, también fue dedicada al Señor Dios en dos ocasiones. El 29 de abril de 1607 colonos desembarcaron en las costas de Virginia. Antes de permitir a los colonos continuar hacia el interior, el reverendo Hunt requiere que cada persona espera delante de Dios por un tiempo de exploración personal y limpieza. Tres días después, el 29 de abril de 1607, la expedición, encabezada por el reverendo Hunt, bajó a tierra para dedicar el continente para la gloria de Dios. Llevaban un elemento con ellos desde Inglaterra con el propósito de dar gloria a Dios en el esfuerzo - una cruz de madera toscamente labrada. A medida que el partido cayó en la orilla barrida por el viento levantaron la cruz de roble de dos metros en la arena. Ciento ochenta y dos años más adelante, el 30 de abril 1789, como una nación recién descubierto por el presidente recién inaugurado también dedico la nueva nación al Señor como se puede leer por su oración en la capilla de San Pablo en Nueva York en el día de su toma de posesión:

“Dios Todopoderoso, Hacemos nuestra ferviente oración que Tú guardarás los Estados Unidos en la protección de tu Santo; y te verás inclinar los corazones de los ciudadanos a cultivar un espíritu de subordinación y obediencia al Gobierno; y entretener a un afecto fraternal y amor por los demás y por sus compañeros de ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos en general, y en particular para sus hermanos que han servido en el campo. Y finalmente te hayas graciosamente placer en todos nosotros disponer para hacer justicia, y amar misericordia, y para degradar a nosotros mismos con la caridad, la humildad y temperamento pacífico de la mente que son las características del Divino Autor de nuestra bendita religión, y sin una humilde imitación de cuyo ejemplo en estas cosas que nunca podemos esperar ser una nación feliz. Otorgar nuestra súplica, te suplicamos, por medio de Jesucristo nuestro Señor. Amén”.

Poco antes, en su toma de posesión, dijo:
"Sería particularmente inadecuada para omitir en este primer acto oficial, mis fervientes súplicas a ese Ser Todopoderoso que gobierna sobre el universo - que preside en el consejo de las naciones - y cuyas ayudas providencial puede suministrar todos los defectos humanos, que su bendición puede consagrar a las libertades y la felicidad del pueblo de los Estados Unidos, un gobierno instituido por sí mismos para estos fines esenciales”.

Recuerdan, "Toda la Escritura es inspirada por Dios, y útil para enseñar, para reprender, para corregir, para instruir en justicia, (2 Timoteo 3:16)

Debemos estar atentos a la advertencia de Dios hacia Israel como está escrito en 2 Crónicas 7: "Pero si te das la vuelta y abandonar los estatutos y mandamientos que les he dado y se van a servir a otros dioses y adorarlos, yo arrancará a Israel de mi tierra, lo que yo les he dado, y rechazaré este templo que he consagrado a mi nombre. Me hago un sinónimo y un objeto de burla entre todos los pueblos. y aunque este templo es ahora tan imponente, todos los que pasan por ella se horroriza y decir, '¿Por qué el Señor ha hecho una cosa así a este país ya este templo? "Y le responderán: 'Porque abandonaron al Señor, Dios de sus padres, que los sacó de Egipto, y han abrazado a dioses ajenos, adorando y sirviendo a ellos -. Es por eso que él ha traído todo este mal sobre ellos ""

Hoy los creyentes necesitan hacer como Daniel y orar al Señor nuestro Dios y confesar :
 "Oh Señor, el Dios grande y temible , que guardas el pacto y la misericordia con todos los que le aman y obedecen sus mandamientos , hemos pecado y hecho lo malo hemos sido malos y hemos sido rebeldes , Nos hemos apartado de tus mandamientos y leyes . no hemos obedecido a tus siervos los profetas, que en tu nombre hablaron a nuestros reyes, a nuestros príncipes, a nuestros padres, ya todo el pueblo de la tierra . "Señor, tú eres justo, pero el día de hoy estamos cubiertos de vergüenza - los hombres de Judá y habitantes de Jerusalén y todo Israel, cercanos y lejanos, en todos los países en los que nos has dispersos a causa de nuestra infidelidad a ti. Oh Señor, nosotros, nuestros reyes, a nuestros príncipes y de nuestros padres están cubiertos de vergüenza porque hemos pecado contra ti. El Señor nuestro Dios es misericordioso y perdonador, aun cuando nos hemos rebelado contra él; no hemos obedecido al Señor, nuestro Dios, o mantenido las leyes que nos dio por medio de sus siervos los profetas. Todo Israel ha transgredido tu ley y se ha apartado, sin querer obedecer a usted. “Por lo tanto los maldición y el juramento escrito en la ley de Moisés, siervo de Dios, han caído sobre nosotros, porque hemos pecado contra ti . Has cumplido las palabras dirigidas contra nosotros y contra nuestros gobernantes trayendo sobre nosotros gran desastre. Debajo de todo el cielo, nada se ha hecho nunca como lo que se ha hecho contra Jerusalén. Así como está escrito en la ley de Moisés, toda esta calamidad ha venido sobre nosotros, pero no hemos buscado el favor de Jehová nuestro Dios. , apartándonos de nuestra iniquidad y prestando atención a tu verdad: Jehová no ha dudado en llevar el desastre sobre nosotros, porque el Señor nuestro Dios es justo en todo lo que hace, sin embargo, no le hemos obedecido " Ahora, Señor, Dios nuestro que sacaste a tu pueblo de Egipto con mano fuerte y que te hiciste un nombre que perdura hasta nuestros días, hemos pecado, hemos hecho mal. Oh Señor, conforme a todos tus actos de justicia, se apartó su ira y tu furor de Jerusalén, tu ciudad, tu santo monte. Nuestros pecados y las iniquidades de nuestros padres, Jerusalén y tu pueblo son objeto de burla a todos los que nos rodean. " Ahora, Dios nuestro, escucha las oraciones y súplicas de este siervo Por tu bien , Señor , mira con agrado a tu santuario desolado Escucha, oh Dios , y escucha; ... Abrir los ojos y ver la desolación de la ciudad que se invoca tu nombre. No hacemos peticiones de ustedes porque somos justos, pero debido a tu gran misericordia. Oh Señor, escucha! ¡Señor, perdona! Señor, escucha y actúa! Por causa de ti, oh Dios mío,  te retrases, porque tu ciudad y tu pueblo cargan su nombre y apellidos " . (Daniel 9:10 ss)

 

 

HEED THE WARNINGS OF THE LORD

As Israel, failed to heed The Lord’s warning after she was dedicated in 997 BCE; America, also dedicated to the Lord God on two occasions, April 29, 1607 when the settlers landed on the shores of Virginia before permitting the colonists to continue inland, Rev. Hunt required that every person wait before God in a time of personal examination and cleansing. Three days later, on April 29, 1607, the expedition, led by Parson Hunt, went ashore to dedicate the continent to the glory of God. They carried one item with them from England for the purpose of giving glory to God in the endeavor – a rough-hewn wooden cross. As the party landed on the wind-swept shore they erected the seven-foot oak cross in the sand. Again on April 30, 1789 as a newly found Nation by the newly inaugurated President as can be read by his prayer at St. Paul’s Chapel on the day of his inauguration:

Almighty God,

      “We make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection; and Thou wilt incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to Government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another and for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field.  And finally that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that Charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind which were the Characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed Religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant our supplication, we beseech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”

Just prior, at his inauguration he said:

"It would be peculiarly improper to omit in this first official act, my fervent supplications to that Almighty Being who rules over the universe - who presides in the council of nations - and whose providential aids can supply every human defect, that his benediction may consecrate to the liberties and happiness of the people of the United States, a government instituted by themselves for these essential purposes."

Remembering that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (2 Timothy 3:16)

 Let’s then take heed to God’s warning to Israel as written in 2 Chronicles 7, "But if you turn away and forsake the decrees and commands I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot Israel from my land, which I have given them, and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name. I will make it a byword and an object of ridicule among all peoples.  And though this temple is now so imposing, all who pass by will be appalled and say, 'Why has the LORD done such a thing to this land and to this temple?' People will answer, 'Because they have forsaken the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of Egypt, and have embraced other gods, worshiping and serving them--that is why he brought all this disaster on them.' "

 Today believers need do as Daniel and pray to the LORD our God and confess:

 "O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with all who love him and obey his commands, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. "Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame--the men of Judah and people of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. O LORD, we and our kings, our princes and our fathers are covered with shame because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; we have not obeyed the LORD our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you. "Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing upon us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come upon us, yet we have not sought the favor of the LORD our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The LORD did not hesitate to bring the disaster upon us, for the LORD our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. "Now, O Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. O Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our fathers have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us. "Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, O Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. Give ear, O God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, hear and act! For your sake, O my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name." (Daniel 9:10ff)
