CAN WE AS A NATION BE JUDGED?

Though David was a man after God’s own heart, he was confronted by the prophet Nathan proclaiming God’s judgment for committing adultery with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband. The northern Kingdom of Israel was called time and time again to repent, to turn back to God but they refused. Their kings, (leaders), not a one of them worshipped the Lord God. Judah also turned her back to the Lord and His commands. All nations that rebelled against God were judged and punished. The Assyrians captured Israel and scattered them never to be one again until 1948, over 2600 years.  Judah also was judged twice, in 586 BC and again in ca. 70AD being scattered this second time for over 1900 years to 1948.  What was their crime? Rebelling against God, turning their backs to Him, worshipping idols and violating His commands.

Can the same happen to the United States?  Yes, definitely, and more so than any other country!  Why would that be? Because there have been only two nations in the history of the world that dedicated themselves to God.  Israel when Solomon was King and the United States by her first President on his inauguration day, George Washington.  The U.S. has not been perfect with many faults yet she honored the Lord God above all else and remained faithful to Him, and loved Him up to the middle of the 20^th century. Then little by little they began to reject Him, the one who gave them life.  They took those things they knew were an abomination to the Lord and made them the norm.  Can they come back?  Yes they can but there will be a point in time when it will be to late.

So what you ask?  Judgment will fall hard on this nation; not just this nation but all the nations that have rejected the Lord God.  The leaders are the worse for they are pushing this nation into the abyss.

"49 Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good." (Ezekiel 16:49-50)

"22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants." (Leviticus 18:22-25)

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. 8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." (Jude vss.7-8)

“Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me." (Jonah 1:1-2)

“They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was desecrated by their blood. 39They defiled themselves by what they did; by their deeds they prostituted themselves. 40Therefore the LORD was angry with his people and abhorred his inheritance.” (Ps. 106:38)

⁷ For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and earthquakes in divers places. ⁸ But all these things are the beginning of travail. ⁹ Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake. ¹⁰ And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another. ¹¹ And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray. ¹² And because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold. ¹³ But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. (Matthew 24:7-13)

            “¹ But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come. ² For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, railers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, ³ without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good, ⁴ traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; ⁵ holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away. ⁶ For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive silly women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts, ⁷ ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁸ And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth. Men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. ⁹ But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be.” (2 Timothy 3:1-9)

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!  Psalm 33:12

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Matthew 28:18-19

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

“Therefore wait for me,” declares the Lord, “for the day when I rise up to seize the prey. For my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out upon them my indignation, all my burning anger; for in the fire of my jealousy all the earth shall be consumed. Zephaniah 3:8

What then can you do? Repent, turn to the Lord God Jesus Christ whom through Him only can one obtain salvation,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life,” (John 3:16).  But know this, it is not just believing but, “ God did not send his Son into the world to be judge of the world; he sent him so that the world might have salvation through him. The man who has faith in him does not come up to be judged; but he who has no faith in him has been judged even now, because he has no faith in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the test by which men are judged: the light has come into the world and men have more love for the dark than for the light, because their acts are evil. The light is hated by everyone whose acts are evil and he does not come to the light for fear that his acts will be seen. (John 3:17-20)
